Reimagining a vacant desert outlet mall as a vertically integrated production studio, media academy, and entertainment destination — built at the gateway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Prism Studios Collective is transforming the shuttered Prizm Outlets property in Primm, Nevada into a Production Campus — three integrated businesses under one 371,000 SF roof at the Nevada-California border on I-15.
The concept was born from a simple conviction held by founder Cylk Cozart: the skills of professional production — cinematography, audio engineering, lighting, post-production — cannot be taught correctly without access to a real, functioning production environment. Building the educational facility required building the studio first. And building a studio of this scale required a cost basis that only distressed large-format retail real estate could provide.
The result is a model that addresses two converging realities simultaneously: the collapse of traditional retail real estate and the explosive global demand for original streaming content.
Each component reinforces the others through shared infrastructure, shared audience, and shared identity. The studio produces the campus audience. The Academy trains its workforce. The Marketplace activates the public-facing footprint.
Professional-grade film and television production infrastructure — two sound stages, a dedicated LED virtual production volume, an eight-room audio complex, post-production suites, and full production support. Available for film, streaming, broadcast, commercial, and music productions.
An accredited media production education center built inside a working studio. Certificate and degree programs in cinematography, audio engineering, lighting, production operations, VFX, and entertainment business — taught on real stages, not simulations. Includes Prism Serves, a dedicated veteran retraining initiative.
An entertainment-first retail, dining, and experiential destination with ~126,000 SF of leasable space curated around the production campus identity. Anchored by Country Roads Brewery — co-founded by Cylk Cozart, Official Beer of the ACC — with an integrated brewery, restaurant, and live streaming venue.
Las Vegas is a deep, active production market — 130+ feature films, multiple ongoing streaming series, and a documented demand for infrastructure that does not yet exist there at scale. Primm sits 40 miles south on the same I-15 corridor, providing the production infrastructure the Las Vegas market needs without the noise ordinances, surface-street congestion, and land costs of the metro.
Production trucks pull off the interstate directly onto campus. Equipment originating in Los Angeles reaches Primm before it reaches Las Vegas — on wrap, trucks are immediately southbound. The Primm Valley Resort & Casino sits adjacent to the campus. Walk from your room to the stage.
I-15 at the California-Nevada border. No surface-street transit, no metro congestion. Trucks and crew arrive from Los Angeles before reaching Las Vegas.
371,000 SF of enclosed improved space with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural systems from original $75M construction — dramatically reducing conversion cost and timeline.
Primm's unincorporated status qualifies productions for Nevada's 5% rural county filming bonus — bringing the effective state tax credit to 20% on qualifying expenditures.
Primm Valley Resort & Casino directly next door. Cast, crew, and Academy students walk between their room and the stage — no car required.

PSC's primary sound stage — sized for mid-budget feature films, premium streaming series, large-format commercials, and multi-camera broadcast. At 20,000 SF, it exceeds the capacity of any existing Nevada studio facility. Designed for simultaneous large-scale production and Prism Academy instruction.
PSC's dedicated In-Camera VFX stage — purpose-built around LED virtual production methodology. Actors perform in, and cameras capture, photorealistic virtual environments in-camera rather than in post. Comparable to ICVFX stages at Trilith Studios, Pinewood, and MBS Media Campus.
A full-service professional audio recording complex serving music recording, film scoring, post-production audio, podcast and voice-over, and ADR. Directly accessible to Prism Academy students. Las Vegas's entertainment ecosystem provides an immediate deep pool of touring artists, casino showroom productions, and advertising clients.
Six post-production suites provide picture editing, color grading, and audio finishing for productions originating on campus or delivered for finishing from outside. The Dolby Atmos mix stage provides theatrical finishing capability currently absent from any Nevada facility.
Beyond the enclosed building, the property includes 40,000–60,000 SF of developable surface land along the I-15 frontage — purpose-built as a secured, utility-served compound for broadcast networks, production power companies, satellite operators, equipment rental houses, and drone operations firms requiring permanent Nevada-adjacent infrastructure.
Prism Academy occupies 55,650 SF within the studio building. Its physical footprint is deliberately focused because the Academy's extended classroom is the stage next door. Students learn on real sets, in real audio rooms, alongside working professionals.
The curriculum is built around production competency, not production theory. Students operate the same equipment, in the same rooms, under the same conditions as the productions booking the campus commercially. Instructors are working practitioners.
